The line that used to divide old world advertising and the so called new age “online” ad campaigns have begun to blur and in some cases totally disappear.
If you haven’t taken that leap and began to advertise online in one way or another I’m afraid your days might be numbered. The percentage of people making any type of purchase these days, be it online or in their own neighborhood who research what they intend to buy has increased dramatically in the last few years. Thanks to the the all seeing Google.
The access of high speed internet has grown and the ease in which it is used has improved as well. Now with the internet poised to take the high speed search to an all new personal and very mobile level, the online local search will start to dominate as the only way to advertise. PERIOD.
The local search I speak of is the all mighty Google planted into the hands of every consumer in your town or city by way of the “I-Phone” and a growing number of hand held “browser phones” on the market today. Who among them is going to track down a phone book to look in the yellow pages to find your ad for the best pizza in town. When a few thumb slides and a click of the mouse can show them precisely what they desire.
Can you see someone booking a trip to Mexico online and then looking in the yellow pages for a tanning salon to darken up before they go? Of course not. They’ll likely look for a deal online while their on it.
The only question is… will you be there when they come looking? If not, I got some bad news for you sunshine… only the smart birds who end up on the front page listings in a Google search are going to get the worm.
Sound familiar? If your not concentrating your efforts on getting those coveted front page spots today they may not be as easy to get tomorrow. Today it’s a piece of cake, if you know what to do. Most small businesses don’t. In fact most are paralyzed with the very thought of creating an online presence. Here’s the good news, you don’t need to know web design or “html code” and how and were to get good hosting. In fact you don’t even need a “web guy” to get it done.
You just need a savvy marketer in your corner and you’ll be leading the pack in no time flat.
The cherry on top?….. You already found one.
